DIN Standards

Access is possible via the Perinorm database.

Since as early as 1917, TU Berlin's University Library has been a repository for all DIN standards. The library has electronic subscriptions of the following valid standards: 

  • the body of German standards including drafts, prestandards and supplementary sheets; 
  • the DIN EN standards (European standards that are adopted as DIN standards);
  • the DIN EN ISO standards, DIN ISO standards (international standards that are first adopted as European standards and then also adopted as DIN standards);
  • the DIN ETS standards (European telecommunications standards that are adopted as DIN standards);
  • the DIN IEC standards (international electrical engineering standards that are adopted as DIN standards).

ISO Standards

Access is possible via the Perinorm database.

TU Berlin's University Library has an electronic subscription of the valid ISO standards.

VDI Standards

Access is possible via the Perinorm database.

TU Berlin's University Library has an electronic subscription of the valid VDI standards including drafts.

Terms of Use

Authorised users within the meaning of this contract are:

  • university staff
  • contract teachers and visiting lecturers at TU Berlin (for the period of their contract or visit)
  • other university members, students
  • other library users holding valid library cards 

Searches in PERINORM (DIN, ISO and VDI standards) are only possible after login with tubIT or library internet account.

Access to the collection of standards includes the use of content in accordance with the provisions of the German Copyright Act (UrhG). Any disclosure of data in whole or in part that is not covered by Section 53 of the German Copyright Act and other paragraphs – irrespective of whether such disclosure is effected by means of an electronic data medium, remote data processing or paper copies – including the granting of third-party access to stored data as well as commercial information brokering is not allowed.

Authorized users may print out data obtained as part of their own research for exclusively academic purposes and/or save it on a USB flash drive.
In contrast to this, the emailing of standards in whole or in part is not allowed.

Access to Perinorm

The commercial use of DIN, ISO and VDI standards is expressly prohibited. Any breach of these conditions will lead, among other things, to the withdrawal of user rights.

Prior to commencement, please read Section 53 of the German Copyright Act. After opening the database program for Perinorm, you must confirm acknowledgment and agree to the terms:
