Fees and Fines
Overdue Notices Schedule / Overdue Fees
If the loan period is exceeded, the return of items will be reminded in writing. The first two reminders can be sent by e-mail.
|Overdue Notices Schedule||Overdue Fees|
|1st overdue notice||on the 2nd day after due date||2 EUR per reminded item|
|2nd overdue notice||on the 10th day after due date||5 EUR additional per reminded item|
|3rd overdue notice||on the 28th day after due date||8 EUR additional per reminded item|
Overdue interlibrary loan items will incur the same fines as above.
Overdue fees must also be paid if our reminder letter has not reached you.
With a fine of over EUR 25,- or if a 3rd reminder has been sent, your account will be blocked and you will be unable to borrow or renew items (according to our Rahmenbenutzungsordnung).
Also under EUR 25,- the library can register a block, if debts exist longer.
Rahmenbenutzungsordnung (German only)
If fines are overdue more than 3 months, you will also not be allowed to borrow or renew items even with fines less than EUR 25,-. After you have paid these kind of fines, please ask circulation staff to unblock your account: Mon - Fri 9:00 - 19:00, Sat 10:00 - 18:00.
How To Pay Fees
Overdue fees can be paid by cash or bank / credit card at our pay machine on the ground floor. Payment by bank transfer is also possible (see details below).
Due to the library system transition, a partial payment of the charges at the pay machine is not possible. However, payment can be made by bank transfer.
