• Publications by two artists with different last names are cataloged under the name of the first author/artist.
• Artist families and their members are grouped under the first representative of the family.
• Anonymous artists or artists with provisional names, monogrammists (artists known by their initials, year, place, etc.) are alphabetically cataloged under K Anony (masters known by year generally within their respective group by ascending year) and placed in the artist alphabet at the appropriate place under the collective term "Anony"; initials are added in the 3rd row instead of a guide number as an additional order criterion, initials or M+ year, e.g. Master E.S.: “K Anony ES,” Master of the Housebook: “K Anony Hausb,” Master L. Cz.: “K Anony LCZ,” or Masters from 1515: “K Anony M1515.”
• The following key is assigned to artists for whom a larger amount of literature is available for better subdivision and orientation:
